Happy New Years Eve, guys! So lets talk goals, we’ve all seen those photos on pinterest, right? You know, the gym in december and then in January.. We’ve all done it, made a goal that was way above and beyond and didn’t even take one action step that day to make it happen. I thought I’d give a few tips on goal setting and helping you reach them.
Making the simplistic.
// Make sure your goal is tangible. I’m not saying don’t dream big, you must do that! But your goal needs to be simple. If It’s to have a rockin’ bod then set the goal that day to do as little as 10 minuets of cardio that day. Don’t say “I’m going to work out every single day for 3 hours for the next 6 months.” Chances are, you won’t do it! [If you do, please give me your secrets ;)] Realistically though, it probably wont happen, and thats okay! If you miss a day, acknowledge it and be okay with yourself. If you cheat and have a piece of that chocolate cake, acknowledge that too and be okay with it. Rather than beating yourself up. This goes for income as well. Say you make a goal, “I want to make $100,000.00 each month, month after month.. extra from what i’m making now.” Again, I know I’m not there but if you are, please give me your secrets! Try setting the goal “I want to make an extra $3,000.00 from what I’m making now.” That is much more tangible and it is high enough that it gets you excited! Once you reach that, each month make the goal a little higher! Figure out exactly what you’ll do with the money and guys, It’s scary how fast that money will come in!
Don’t compare yourself to others
// It’s great to have mentors, in fact you need those people. You want someone in your life that supports you and that teaches you. You need to make sure that you’re not comparing yourself to others though. Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. It’s plain and simple only compete with yourself.
Embrace your desires
// Do something that genuinely makes you happy. Start up cooking, dancing, painting, plant a garden. Anything that will make you happy and feel fulfilled. Take some time to yourself and listen to you. When you’re alone with yourself you learn a lot about you.
Gratitude
// Seriously guys, I can not stress ENOUGH about gratitude. It is the most important thing! Gratitude can be a whole post by itself but I’ll try and keep it short and simple. In everything you do, you must feel gratitude. I know It’s sometimes hard, I have to constantly train my brain to feel gratitude and find the gold in everything but guys, when you do, things change. I mean really really change. Say you want to be making $20,000.00 a month. You say “When I get that then I’ll be happy” that saying “When I’m there, then I’ll be happy” is the absolutely biggest, nastiest most disgusting lie you could ever tell yourself. You need to be happy now. I’m not saying if you don’t find the gratitude you can’t have the $20,000.00 because you can. But guess what, you won’t be happy. You need to be genuinely happy now.
I’m hoping these helped! If you have any questions feel free to e-mail here.
