For my all over wedding aesthetic, I want it to be a little fancy, vintage and pretty but with a touch of rustic and edge to it.
I knew for my bridal shower invitations I wanted to do something simple but wanted to give them a bit of a rustic feel. So I decided to faux deckled edge paper! Now I had no idea how to do this other than reading and looking at a few tutorials on Pinterest but, I kind of just winged it and I think they turned out pretty neat!
The people I give these invitations to will probably be giving me some scissors for a wedding gift. (hah)
So I wanted them to fit in a 5 x 7 so I printed them larger so that I could bend each side to fit the right dimensions.
Now, they’re not going to all turn out the same; some will be bigger than others. So if you’re mega OCD about that, then don’t do this. hahah
The first step I did was fold them the size that I wanted to the final size to be. When I folded them, I dipped the brush in the water and lightly brushed the water on the edge. Then carefully tear the paper.
Then I’d push down with my nail/finger on the edge to give more of a jagged edge.
Annnnd… That’s pretty much it guys! If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below! I’m not sure if I did a good job explaining the tutorial, but I think the images help!

This is so lovely – your entire blog is! I adore all things fancy but rustic and the soft palette you typically use/feature is just beyond beautiful!
