This Summer I’ve learned something quite interesting about myself, I enjoy getting my hands a little dirty, yes a little dirty. I don’t know what it is but there’s something therapeutic digging and getting your hands in the soil. Last Summer when Matt and I moved in together we rented and so I didn’t do much weeding and “out doorsey” stuff. October we bought a house then winter was here, and now Its summer and I can’t believe I actually enjoy being outside and just doing “stuff!” When I was living with my parents I didn’t do diddly squat. They’d ask me 100 times to just water flowers, and it was such a hassle for me! (Sorry Mom and Dad!) Well, that was a really long explanation to say that I now love gardening and succulents.
Now I’m no PRO at succulents this is just what I have personally done and that has seemed to work. It worked well enough that my little succulents are still alive so to me, that’s success!
I bought these little babies at Horrocks as well as the little pot. The soil and stones I purchased at a local Home Depot.
So first STEP
1 // Because I don’t know anything about planting, and I didn’t know what to do about the hole in the bottom of the pot, so I legit cut a plastic plate and shoved it down in the bottom. Now I understand that’s a bit “jankey” but oh well it worked! (It’s probably there for a specific reason so if any of you know you’re more than welcome to share ha-ah!)
2 // I poured the soil to fill the entire pot and placed the stones on top then mixed them all together. I also watered the soil to add some moisture to it. I don’t know why I did this It’s just what Southern Living said to do sooo that’s what I did!
3// I gently took the little succulents out of the containers and made two holes in the soil and gently placed them in the holes then filled the spaces around them with more soil.
4// Then I just put some stones on top of the soil and super gently tucked them under the plants!
annnnd VOILA!
I hope you enjoyed this mini tutorial it was super simple and pretty self-explanatory! Hope you guys have a super week!

you want the hole for drainage š just make sure you don’t over water them š they do pretty well with very little water anyway xoxo
