GUYS, I’m so excited to share with you Rose Water Designs, she’s a local jewelry artist right out of Spring Lake, Mi and her designs are absolutely beautiful! She supplies to 20 upscale boutiques across Michigan to Florida! I had the privilege to collaborate with her, and In these photos I’m featuring one of her statement necklaces!
Below are some questions I asked Lauren (the artist) to get to know her and her shop a bit more!
Make sure to check out Laurens Etsy shop here and her Facebook and Instagram
How did you decide you wanted to become a jewelry designer?
This happened very naturally. I started designing and making jewelry for myself about nine years ago. This turned into designing for brides and bridal parties as well as commissioned gifts. My skill and knowledge grew as I went along and two years ago I found myself in a position to create Rose Water Designs into a full time business.
Where do you find your inspiration to make your pieces?
I find inspiration all around me. I love to flip through the pages of fashion magazines and page through pinterest. I’m constantly looking at fashion trends on TV as well as in the real life around me.
How did you get to where you are today?
A lot of hard work and networking. Especially in the beginning, I would spend weeks creating seasonal lines. I then spend even more time researching the very best boutique matches for my jewelry. It takes courage to approach these shops but it has always been worth it.
What advice would you offer anyone who wants to build their own jewelry line?
Really take the time to find out your personal look and niche. Plan out how much time you can commit to your art and what direction you want to take it in. Take the plunge! If it fails, you will know that you are one of the few to chase your dreams. If it’s successful, there you have it, your dreams have come true.
What is your vision for the shop in future?
I would love to continue to grow into boutiques around the US. I love visiting the towns that support my business.
Best Advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Network and connect as much as possible. You should literally always be thinking of new angels to take your business in and new ways to get there. Meeting new people expands your network in amazing amounts.
