But Christmas growing up was always the happiest time for me as a Child. My Grandma (Moms Mom) always came to visit us for a few weeks during the holidays, our family always made time to get together on top of all that, I always ate twice my body weight in Christmas cookies from my other Grandma!
White Bead Garland, Truck Print, Magnolia Leaf Wreath, Ho Ho Ho Pillow, Snow Balls Jar I found in store
When Matt and I bought our home, the Holidays was one thing I was truly excited for. I know growing up I was super snarky about decorating for Christmas when we have a home, I remember being like no mine will be simple, maybe a small tree but nothing big. Here I am. I’ve been watching Netflix Christmas movies since before Halloween, I’m going all out for the Holidays and it just feels like my childhood.
So our basement makeover has been a process, see our before photo here! But now that I’m sitting down here almost every day and night I’m so thankful for the process, thankful for our family, thankful for the friends that helped. We learned A LOT, got a little sassy but looking at the finished product we’re so grateful. Especially just in time for the Holidays!
So for I guess the ‘theme’ of decorating (is that a thing? do you call it a theme?) I went for more rustic textures, I love love love white, but for the Holidays I love throwing in pops of red here and there! Also the little truck art print we have hanging on our wall is really one of our favorites, that little tree, I’ve been seeing it everywhere and I’m kind of loving it!
For our tree skirt I found this awesome throw at Kirklands, I love tree skirts but I wanted to go for more of a done un-done look so I went for this fluffy throw as a tree skirt!
