Before you start reading this, if you’re a podcast junkie and more into listening rather reading.. Because I get it, you’re busy and doing things if it’s easier for you, scroll to the bottom and I actually read and explain this blog post, hopefully this is a time saver for you! xo
May I just start by saying, I’m just sharing my own thoughts on confidence! I’m not an expert, but i’m just sharing with you, human to human some of the things that truly worked for me to become more confident!
1. Force new experiences
I’ve had a struggle with this over the past couple years. The personal struggle for me was, working from home, being such an extrovert but also dealing with social anxiety. I love people; I love to surround myself with people but the motivation to get there and the thought of I might need to go and talk to people I don’t know, freaked me the freak out. BUT when I left, a majority of the time I felt energized and satisfied. (which is the extrovert side of me)
But when you start doing things that are outside of your comfort zone, you become more self-aware, it causes you to grow, and those new experiences will create confidence.
2. Meditation
Okay, honestly I know it seems like a hassle to do during the day. But it cuts off the work load. If I take 10 minutes to meditate the rest of my work day goes so much smoother, I feel more accomplished and overall a happier human being.
3. Focusing on your positive qualities
As cornball as this sounds, it works. List out your positive qualities about yourself, even if it’s your quirky ones! Learn to love em’. Once you start doing that, it REALLY helps with comparison.
4. Educate Yourself
Continually learn new information. Take online courses, attend events, go to networking events, become a part of an Academy.
When you’re learning new information, you have better conversation; it helps with your communication skills which, I think helps your confidence!
5. Affirmations
What you think about, will come about. When you repeat something over and over it becomes a habit and part of your belief.
So, repeat these in the mirror.
(Your Name Here) I forgive you for… (write out 5 things) (Your Name Here) I commit to you that… (write out 5 things) (Your Name Here) I promise I will… (Write out 5 things)
