You guys, I’m so so excited for this! We’ve been planning on making something for our entryway for so long now! I wanted something that was cute but functional. I contemplated putting a table here but I wanted something that was a little more useful than a table. Apollo is so obsessed with cars right now and everything in our house is a race track so I thought this little bench would be perfect for him too! The best part for all the materials it was maybe $25. I feel like that is SO good for a 6ft bench!
What you’ll need
One 2x8x12
Two 2x4x8
3in screws
Cut your one 2x8x12 in half so you have two 2x8x6 (home depot will cut these for free!)
Cut your 2x4s so you have four 8in pieces and four 15 1/2in pieces.
Take two 15 1/2in pieces and two 8in pieces and assemble together. Make sure to predrill. (see photos to see where to put the scews)
Then you want to measure where the legs will be. We did 7 1/2 in from the end of the bench and 1 3/4 overhang on the sides.
To assemble the legs you’ll want to predrill 8 holes and then use your 3in screws secure.
I used jigsaw to roughen up the wood a little before I sanded it to make it look a little more rustic and weathered.
You’re done! I hope you guys enjoyed this if you build it make sure to tag me on Instagram!
