As we approach a season of giving, I wanted to talk a little more about giving and gratitude. There are so many ways of giving that can be so simple. Sometimes, those simple little things mean the most. This world can be dark in so many ways—sharing some kindness and gratitude can go a long way and bring some light to someone’s life.
One of my favorite ways of expressing gratitude is sending out snail mail. There is something so exciting about receiving something in the mail that isn’t a bill. Especially if it’s from a friend! Just write out a few things that you love about that person and what makes them special. It’ll make their entire day! I love the cards that Dollar General has right now from Paper Thread by American Greetings. They have a great selection there for anything you might need. Birthdays, Weddings, Thank You’s, etc. Each card is hand-crafted and high quality!
A few things I loved about Paper Thread was that they’re conveniently at your local Dollar General. The store was clean and bright, and the cards were easy to find. The display was super organized and I love that all cards are only $3.50! Make sure to visit the American Greetings card aisle at Dollar Generaltoday! Paper Thread is new to Dollar General so if you haven’t seen it in your store yet check back soon, more stores are adding it weekly! And as always, you can find American Greetings cards at Dollar General.
Another way I love to show more giving and gratitude is patience and listening. Grab a cup of coffee with a friend and just be there. Be present, set your phone aside, and listen to them. This is so simple, but it’ll be so fulfilling for both you and the person you’re with.
Volunteer! Find a way to volunteer your time. This is something Matt and I have talked about doing this season. We want to start showing this to Apollo early. We want him to be a part of it, even if it means cooking a warm meal for a family in our home and delivering it, shopping for a family and bringing him along for it, or collecting some canned goods and dropping them off. You can go big or small but if we all do something, it’ll make a big impact!
Have you been to Dollar General yet and seen Paper Thread? What do you think of it?
