A Summer Hot Dog Bar

For our son’s first birthday party we decided to put together a hotdog bar.
I feel like this is perfect for any party or gathering. It takes the mess and hassle out of hosting. Plus who doesn’t love hotdogs?

We took an 8 ft table and it was the perfect length for everything. For linens instead of using tear away plastic table cloths (which is totally ok if you want to!) I grabbed two cheaper shower curtains and used those as our linens and no one could tell. I just felt like they looked a little nicer!

If you need to keep the hotdogs warm use a tin that has a lid instead of a platter.

For hotdogs and buns, Meijer has any brand you can imagine. So it’s easy to find something that everyone will love. We kept the buns in a little storage basket with a top. This was super perfect because being outside there are flies so you could shut it whenever you needed. Meijer has so many different storage baskets so it was easy to find! 

For the toppings we used:
Ketchup
Mustard
Honey Mustard – (this one was a big hit)
Banana Peppers
Relish
BBQ
Onions
Cheese

It felt like just enough to satisfy but it wasn’t too overwhelming. We used wooden spoons and forks, then I wrote on each one what everything was. It was clear so everyone knew exactly what they’re eating. The worst is putting sweet relish when you’re expecting dill. Amiright?

For the drinks, we decided to keep it super simple and just put water and lemonade out. In the water, I cut up some fresh lemons and cucumbers from our garden. It just added a little something!

We found these mini brown paper bags and used scalloped scissors to cut off the tops for the chips. You can find both at Meijer! I found that this was perfect and space-saving on plates. They made the table look cute but they were also super functional as well!

I also want to add, on top of finding everything you’ll need for all your Summer and Fall gatherings, if you have kids that are heading back to school, their back to school section is awesome. I can’t believe everything they have now for kids! They have everything from backpacks, lunch boxes, school supplies, and some great dorm room finds too!
