37 Weeks Pregnant and what’s happenin’
This past week was intense. Two day’s ago I had my Dr’s apt and I’m not dilated at all yet. Unfortunately. I say unfortunately but that’s because I know this kiddo is big and ready from what I’ve been told. Haha. But on the morning of our appointment, around 4 am I woke up with a bad contraction. It was pretty darn painful and I continued to have a few more after that along with some back pain, nausea, a ton of pressure and a lot I mean a lot of anxiety. I actually had Matt pack up our car just because I thought maybe this was it. We got to our appointment and she was like nope it all looks good and you’re totally closed. I had a relief and started feeling better knowing everything was normal (first timer here can ya tell?! Hah) But knowing everything was okay eased the anxiety and stress.
I had my group b strep test? I believe that’s what it’s called and that came back negative so apparently, that’s great. One less thing to worry about during birth. I think if it comes back positive you need antibiotics for it but it’s super common. But we’re all good on that.
Really I’ve just had more pressure and back pain this week. I think he’s on a nerve because the back pain sort of comes and goes. Everyone keeps saying to relax and rest but honestly, the back pain is worse at night or when I’ve been sitting and working for a long period of time. So althugh I get winded easily moving around and being active sort of helps the best.
I did wake up in the middle of the night last week with a really weird knee, shin ankle and foot pain, the same thing happened with my wrist a few nights before. Again she reassured me it’s probably more nerve pain from his positioning.
I’m starting to learn, almost anything is “normal” at this time in pregnancy. It’s obviously always good to bring it up to your Doctor but for the most part, when something a little odd happens I try to not have as much anxiety with it because chances are that’ll be gone once he’s here!
These last moments where it’s just Matt, Millie and I. I’m trying really hard to soak in these day’s and appreciate the time at home where we’re just relaxing enjoying us and talking about the baby. It’s really crazy to move through these moments and think about how I’ve always thought and imagined how these day’s would be. So i’m really trying to live in the present moment and enjoy this time. Okay well, keeping it real as always but you guys, I don’t just pee all the time, number 2 happens ALL. THE. TIME. I heard it’s your body gearing up for labor and just keepin’ ya empty but holy cow. I’m thankful I work from home.
I also get a lot of contractions, they seem to get more intense each day. They’re not timed yet but I defiantly get more and more every day. I’ve also had a second wind. I was feeling really overwhelmed but I do feel like I’ve had a burst of energy the last couple days.
I mentioned the leg, hand and back pain however I feel like that is all nerve related and normal.
I’ve been eating way more, the appetite is crazy. I mean I ate before but now I’m like a bottomless pit I just want to eat all. the. time.
My ankles and legs just feel a little more swollen but oh wells.
My belly button still hasn’t popped out so I’m thinking it won’t!
No stretch marks yet, Thannnnkkkkkk you.
We have a few more things up and it’s coming together!! I’ll share some photos of it soon!
Nervous as ever, excited, sacred, happy all the dang emotions.
According to the bump app he’s the size of Romaine Lettuce, and it say’s he’s inhaling exhaling sucking gripping and blinking which is freaking adorable.
That’s about it for this update, nothing too new! I’m just getting so excited for his arrival!
