This is probably one of my most favorite posts! I am so excited to share with you guys our full kitchen renovation. It has been a long time coming. I actually did this post a while back, I’ll include an image of what our kitchen initially looked like a few years ago after we updated it. But now I feel like I’ve finally found my style, the cabinets are updated and it’s at the place where it brightens my mornings, I love walking into it. This kitchen may be tiny but she is mighty!
So you can see when we first bought the house the kitchen by the shelves had a dark hunter green color. Not cute. Then the laminate and backsplash was that same color. The cabinet doors were white but they were in rough condition. The laminate was peeling up in different places so it had to go.
Back then our budget was pretty small. So we did laminate again on our countertops a butcher block color and then for backsplash we did a super clean subway tile and I still love it all. I think it’s really timeless. It’s a little trendy but not too much if you know what I mean.
Then Matt built new cabinet doors which you can read more about it here! Yes, my seriously amazing husband took on that project when our son was only like 4 months old. But was so worth it. It feels so fresh and clean in there!
We also bought and stained these shelves. We had cheaper ones before that was more of a fake wood laminate finish but we wanted to change it up a bit. We literally bought common boards at home depot and stained them. It was the cheapest DIY I think $20? For both shelves! Such a good deal!
