If you’re pregnant you understand. Things change annnnd they change a lot. In the beginning of my pregnancy, I’ll be totally honest. I had a hard time with my body changing. It’s a really weird thing, I’m so grateful and so excited that my body is growing and changing but still that part of me has moments of freak out. Which I hate. I will say, at our 20-week ultrasound seeing our little baby boy I was overflown with love and I truly truly felt like nothing else in this world mattered. Nothing.
But still, there are a few things I’ve done this pregnancy that have elevated my confidence a bit. I’m really excited to be partnering with Urban You on this post. You guys, they just opened their new location on Wealthy and it is STUNNING. They offer so many services like lash extensions, microblading, fillers, nails, facials they even have a fluff bar! You can read more about their membership and services they offer here!
Lash Extensions
I’ve had lash extensions in the past and I got them again recently and I’m so happy I did. I see Leah at Urban You. She’s amazing. Not only is she super sweet and down to earth she does such a good job making lashes look natural yet glam. Not sure how she does that but she’s a lash magician.
I know especially in the first trimester I had NO motivation and like I said with my body changing I was feeling a little insecure. Having lash extensions has really helped elevate my whole look and my confidence.
Going for a Walk or Working Out
Okay, I know this one seems a bit obvious. However, I can’t tell you the difference in my mood when I get my body moving even just a little bit. I honestly just youtube prenatal workouts and follow some of those. Make sure to talk to your Dr first before starting anything and just listen to your body. But getting your body moving a bit helps your mood and all over physical and mental health.
Shellac
Get them nails done on a regular basis and don’t even feel bad about it. So I got the OK from my Dr to get shellac. I know there can be some controversy about using polish and getting your nails done so, of course, ask your Dr. But for me it’s been something that I don’t have to worry about, there’s something about when your nails just look good you feel good. Also caring for yourself that just makes you feel a bit better. I get my nails done also at Urban You (duh). Their shellac girl is also a wizard because those nails don’t chip or peel up. If I don’t get back in time I literally have to take them off myself because they’ve grown out so much. But you guys, they don’t chip or peel up whatsoever. If you follow me on Instagram, you already know my love for Urban You’s Nails.
Journal
Okay you guys know by now I love to journal. I just think it’s a perfect way of releasing negative emotions and fears. With pregnancy came a lot of fear. I’m not going to lie. I’ve had a lot of negative self-talk about what kind of mother I will be, what kind of a wife I’ll be after this baby is here. How I’ll handle birth, how my health will be after birth and truly, one thing that has helped is journaling. Getting it all out, writing out my biggest fears and just releasing it. Sounds a bit woo-woo but I promise you, it works. It helps to center you back.
A Few Pieces That Help You Rock Yo Bump
Okay you guys, this might also seem like a bit of an obvious one. But finding a few pieces that make yo little bump look super cute is a kind of a must. I found these two dresses here and here that have so much rushing it literally makes everything look great. They’re also awesome because they’re nursing friendly too!
Thanks to Urban You for working with me on this post. You guys, they offer so many amazing services there. Like I said if you follow me on Insta you already know I love them there. The girls are super sweet, you feel comfortable there and you leave feeling as confident as ever. Ps. I really want to try their facial massage. Looks DREAMY.
