So our house is pretty tiny. It’s perfect for us and we couldn’t love it more. But when we first moved in a felt a little struggle with making the room feel brighter and bigger just because of the small space. I feel like over the last few years I’ve really found things that help brighten up the area. Although our walls are still a beige color (goal is to get them white by this fall) there are a few little things we’ve done to really make the space feel more spacious and brighter!
Adding Greenery
One of the best things we did was add some greenery to our living room. It just freshens up the area so much. Since I have the WORST time keeping plants alive though, I went for this fiddle leaf tree and I’ve been obsessed with it, it’s made such a huge difference in here!
Adding Blooms
I have a thing with white flowers. I love hydrangeas and these fluffy white blooms just make the space feel so bright, airy and inviting!
A Glass Coffee Table
Before we had this coffee table we had a black coffee table that was huge. It just felt like this huge brick in the middle of the room and didn’t do much for the space. This coffee table we got from Wayfair I’ve been so obsessed with and I can really tell the difference in the brightness of our space.
Lighter Rug
At one point we had a black and white rug and although I loved it, for our smaller space it just didn’t work. Finding a brighter light blue or gray rug has really helped make our space feel a bit brighter!
Light Wicker
I feel like light wicker just breaks space up so well. It kind of gives a beachy, coastal, effortless and relaxed feel to the space (not as stuffy) I feel like it’s really helped to lighten up our space!
I hope you guys liked these suggestions. They’re really a quick fix to any space. They’re just a few things to keep in mind if you’re moving into a smaller space!
