Anxiety is something I’ve had since I can remember. Probably since elementary school? It’s something that has always came and gone. But after I had Apollo it came back and came back hard. I’ve been trying my hardest to work through it and lately my anxiety has been so much better! Here are some things I’ve been trying to impliment daily that has helped tremendously! But if you’re feeling like your anxiety is too much to handle, reach out to your health care provider. They’re going to talk to you, listen to you and help you. But here are 10 healthy habits to do today to reduce anxiety that you can start implementing today.
1. Journaling
You all know if you’ve been following me for a while how I’m so so pro journaling. Journaling is the perfect way to get all the gunk, all the anxiety that is swilriling in your mind out onto paper. Allow your intuition to talk through you, you can ask questions, you can vent. Writing it all out and getting it out of you is going to allow you to move forward and feel not as stuck.
2. Meditation
You can meditate for 30 minuites or you can take 2 minutes out of your day to sit put your had over your heart and your other on your stomach and focus on deep breathing. You can easily find a couple minute meditation on youtube. It brings you back, calms you and reenergeizes you.
3. List-making
I swear I have a list for everything. I have a list for meal prep, my home to do’s, my work to do’s I swear I have a list for everything. This has been part of my morning routine. I get Apollo his bottle, I make my coffee and while I’m drinking my coffee I write out my to do’s for the week and for the day. This helps start my day right and in the right mindset.
4. Stretching/Yoga
I try mid day to take a little break and stretch and do a little yoga. This helps to reenergize me and get myself centered again.
5. Breakaway from the technology
This is a MUST. If you’re like me and you’re a working Mama, whether you work from home or you’re in an office I think it’s so important to break away for a few. Either go for a walk and leave your phone at home or inside or you have it in your purse but don’t take it out. I think it’s so important to set it aside. You’ll become much more present.
6. Create a routine
I was never a big routine person. I’m more of fly by the seat of your pants type of gal. But since becoming a Mother and working from home. Creating a routine that we have has been something that has helped to reduce my anxiety.
7. Ask for help
Hire help or ask for help when you can. Sometimes we’re stretched way too thin and it is okay to reach out and ask for the help. We feel like we need to do it all, and we don’t. This is one friend to another ask for the help.
8. Water
This seems so silly but normally people don’t take in enough water. Get yourself a cute cup that will inspire you to drink more!
9. Declutter
I’m not saying Marie Kondo your entire life. But take strides in organizing little parts of your home. That drawer that you’ve said you needed to clean out. Set a timer on your phone for 5 minutes and go at it. Don’t worry if you can’t get it all done. But I promise you those five minutes of action and cleaning out your space will give you so much more clarity.
10. Plan Ahead
Try your hardest to plan ahead. This goes back to list making. Even if it’s a family vacation plan out the places you’d like to go, that way you can refere back to that when it’s time to acutally plan for the vacation. Same as weekends. Make lists of places and things you’d like to do on the weekends in the Summer that way when the weekend gets there you can look back and try somthing new! I do this for work as well. I try my hardest to plan out my content and my brand sponsorships 4-6 months in advanced. That way I know what is coming in and everything I need to do to get those deadlines done.
